PETER PAN AUTHOR

Sir James Matthew Barrie, comúnmente conocido como J. M. Barrie (9 de mayo de 1860 - 19 de junio de 1937), fue un novelista y dramaturgo escocés. Es especialmente famoso por haber creado el personaje de Peter Pan, basado en sus amigos de la infancia, los niños Llewellyn-Davies.

El segundo de diez hermanos, Barrie nació en Kirriemuir, Angus (Scotland) y fue educado en The Glasgow Academy y la Universidad de Edimburgo. Trabajó como periodista en Nottingham, luego en Londres, y luego pasó a ser novelista y posteriormente autor teatral.

Peter Pan fue representado por primera vez el 27 de diciembre de 1904. Se ha interpretado numerosas veces desde entonces, y se desarrolló por Barrie en forma de novela en el año 1911: Peter Pan y Wendy (Peter and Wendy), y ha sido adaptada por otros en películas de dibujos, musicales y otros medios.

En 1929, el autor especificó que los derechos de autor de la obra debían dedicarse al principal hospital infantil de la nación, el Great Ormond Street Hospital, en Londres.

UNIT 7 TEST

We have the Unit 7 Test on Thursday, 31st of May.

You must study and revise:

-Listening 1: Vocabulary about the beach (page 41 of the book) Listen and tick the correct picture.

-Listening 2: Tick (v) or cross (x). Do you want to go swimming? Yes, I do/ No, I don't.

-Reading: I want to look for shells, I don't want to look for treasure...

-Read and match: Information about Beach flags.

-Order the words and write questions: you  frisbee  want Do to play? Do you want to play frisbee?

-'I spy' game. Count and write the numbers. Revise the numbers from 1 to 20.

-Write sentences to make a little project: 2 sentences with I want to... (look for shells, play frisbee...) and 2 sentences with I don't want to... I love (swimming!).By (name)

Look at this example:

I want to go snorkelling and I want to eat watermelon.
I don't want to play frisbee and I don't want to look for treasure. I love flying the kite! By (name)

SECOND ENGLISH WEEK!

Quedan 10 días para que empiece la 2ª Semana Inglesa y ya nos ha explicado esta mañana Teacher Encarni en qué va a consistir más o menos.

Se inaugurará el lunes 4 de junio a las 5 de la tarde con una Tea Time (Hora del té). Podremos venir con nuestros padres y madres a tomar el té (sin teína, para que puedan beber los niños) y a visitar la exposición con los trabajos de todos los niños y niñas del colegio. Ya diremos más adelante a qué hora se hace cada actividad. Durante toda la semana, hasta el viernes 8, vamos a hacer talleres relacionados con el tema y veremos la película del cuento. Todo ello será después del recreo.

Nuestro cuento es Peter Pan y ya hemos estado coloreando imágenes y preparando las viñetas. Junto con los compañeros de 3ºB y 3ºC lo terminaremos pronto y va a quedar muy bonito.

También podemos traer objetos relacionados con Peter Pan y el resto de personajes: Campanilla, Wendy, sus hermanso John y Michael, el Capitán Garfio... Pueden ser cuentos o libros, tanto en inglés como en español, peluches, muñecos, figuritas... 

No es necesario comprar nada. Simplemente lo que tengamos en casa, nuestro o de nuestros hermanos, primos, etc... 

Se etiquetarán con una pegatina para saber de quién es cada cosa y cuando termine la exposición se le devolverá a cada niño o niña.

Tenemos mañana y toda la semana que viene para traer lo que tengamos, pero no hace falta que todos los niños y niñas de la clase traigan algo. Seguro que entre las tres clases de 3º traemos muchísimo.

Como hay que compartir una parte de la exposición con los niños de 4º, que tienen otro cuento, no habrá mucho espacio; así que si no vemos algo de lo que hemos traído, es porque no hay suficiente sitio o porque es algo que ya está repetido.

A SPECIAL DAY

Hoy no hemos tenido una clase normal. A las 9.00 venía Teacher Encarni a por nosotros a la fila y comprobamos que había 7 niños. Después llegaron dos más. Subimos a la clase, pero había que buscar la llave del aula primero. Cuando ya estábamos dentro, encendimos los ordenadores y jugamos un poco con los juegos de vocabulario que tenemos en nuestro blog.

A las 9.30 aproximadamente, llegó el Director y nos tuvimos que repartir entre las clases de 3ºB y 3ºC, pero casualmente a segunda hora, algunos estuvimos en otra clase de inglés en 3ºC con la teacher de nuevo..

Hemos repasado la Unit 7, porque nuestros compañeros aún no han acabado la unidad. El jueves corregiremos la tarea que había para hoy y hablaremos de lo que vamos a hacer en estas semanas próximas. Tenemos que hacer el project de la unidad y el examen (test), pero...

Ya sabemos algo sobre la  II Semana Inglesa, the II English Week!

Se celebrará del 4 al 8 de junio y va a tratar sobre cuentos infantiles en inglés. El nuestro va a ser Peter Pan. Nos hemos puesto muy contentos al saberlo.

As you have done the test this morning, on Thursday 26th we'll start Unit 7. I'll give you the test marks on Friday 27th.

Remember! If you have not given me the project 'My favourite animal' yet, you can hand in it on Thursday. But you already know that you are not going to receive the same mark than your mates.

Como habéis hecho el examen esta mañana, el jueves 26 empezaremos la unidad 7. Os daré las notas del examen el viernes 27.

¡Recordad! Si no me habéis dado el project todavía, podéis entregarlo el jueves. Pero ya sabéis que no vais a recibir la misma nota que vuestros compañeros.

Escribo hoy en español para recordar que no hay deberes.

El martes 24 tenemos el examen de la Unidad 6. Lo haremos, como ya he dicho en clase esta mañana, en el aula de inglés.

Por favor, intentad ser puntuales y esperad en clase con vuestro estuche y el project (si no lo habéis entregado todavía) a que yo pase a por vosotros.

Aprovechad el fin de semana para repasar y estudiar mucho. Si habéis trabajado durante todo el tema, no tenéis nada que temer, pues el examen será muy fácil.

REVISION FOR THE UNIT 6 TEST

In this unit, you have to revise and study these contents for the test:

- Routines: Date, Weather, What are you wearing?, Days of the week and Seasons.

- Two listening exercises: 

1) Listen and order the pictures (animals), 2) Listen and tick (in, on, under, behind...)

- Match the animals to the actions: climb, hunt, fly, run, jump, swim, sleep...

- Order the words to make sentences: questions or answers:

the parrot under Is rock the ? 

Is the parrot under the rock? Yes, it is / No, it isn't.

- Answer some questions about animals. For example: 'Where's the tiger? The tiger is on the tree.'

- Project: Write and draw about your favourite animal. I'll write an example for you in class.

Don't forget write your project in the model worksheet (ficha modelo) if you have finished it and it is corrected.

PROJECT UNIT 6: MY FAVOURITE ANIMAL
